About the Virtual Conference
Hosted every two years in different corners of the world, this International Conference aims to share research carried out by Academics and Deaf researchers.
The 10th International Deaf Academics and Researchers Conference is only for Deaf and hard of hearing people. The conference is held in International Signs (IS), without translation into spoken English or interpretation services.
Although not required, presenters can use a PowerPoint presentation or other presentation material in the language of their choice. If you use a written language other than English, you can also use bilingual support for accessibility reasons (for example, in Spanish and English).
In past conferences, Deaf people with varying levels of command of their national sign language and IS participated. No matter your sign language and your level of proficiency in IS, everyone is welcome. Resources to practice IS will be shared prior to the conference.
Accessibility
Want to participate but have accessibility concerns or other equity concerns? Contact us! We will be happy to respond to your needs as best we can.
